JOHN WATKISS

John Watkiss started his education in the south of England, 1979 Brighton University of the Arts. After graduating three years later with a BA first class honors in fine art and illustration, Watkiss began his career in London as a portrait painter and illustrator as well as teaching anatomy and fine art at the Royal College of Art, Ballet Stage and Fashion Design, the Museum of the Moving Image in London, and Steven Spielberg’s Amblimation. Watkiss’ collaborations include Derek Jarman, Saatchi & Saatchi, Ridley Scott Associates, Francis Ford Coppola, Dreamworks, Twentieth Century Fox and Disney on such projects as Tarzan and Atlantis and Sky Captain and the World of Tomorrow. Watkiss’ work has been featured in the British National Portrait Gallery and The Ford Motor Company Museum.
